I want you and I to make a pledge everyday for the rest of our lives. The S.A.F. Pledge is an affirmation for independent, business-minded, trailblazing neo-women. Its purpose is to fortify our habits for attaining success and happiness, ensure greatness and catapult us from obscurity to opulence. S.A.F. isn't self-help. It won't instantaneously turn your life into a frilly tampon commercial.
S.A.F. is for the woman who genuinely believes in her gifts and talents, but because of outside factors - economic, environmental, educational, or personal issues - is not yet living to her fullest potential. Oh! To be young and inspired, working a shit job, and living hand to mouth money. The three fundamental commitments of S.A.F. are to be Social, Active, and Forceful.
S.A.F. is for the woman who genuinely believes in her gifts and talents, but because of outside factors - economic, environmental, educational, or personal issues - is not yet living to her fullest potential. Oh! To be young and inspired, working a shit job, and living hand to mouth money. The three fundamental commitments of S.A.F. are to be Social, Active, and Forceful.
- Be Social: Maybe you hang with your girls that never left the block, or you’ve been pigeon-holed into a clique or group that isn't serving your particular goals or needs at the moment. You could even be the person who retreats from humanity all together (a grand and sobering feeling, occasionally), the socially awkward denizen of your own daydreams. But this won’t do. You must diversify your circle. Being social and worldly brings you connections toward your ultimate goal, can lead to job offers, and improves your people skills.
- Be Active: Yes, physical exercise does play a role in achieving your goals. Being physically active improves brain function. Aside from keeping fit, to be active means subduing procrastination, and staying "plugged in" and getting work done, and meeting deadlines ahead of time. We actually lose more rest when we procrastinate. The time you save not procrastinating leaves you with more time for leisure and being Social. And above all else, always, always, always CELEBRATE completed goals and milestones.
- being Forceful: I don't mean get gnarly and surely don't pull the raging bitch card. I mean be as aggressive and speedy to get everything that you need to get done done. Always take your dreams seriously. Never down playing your accomplishments. You should see the word "no" and take rejection as a push to make yourself better. Learn the mastery of forceful grace. I call it the "Flower Shark". If you’re not hungry you won't be eating.
You always wanted to do something that YOU loved. Don’t give up! Use S.A.F. to realize that any and all things are possible (no tampon).
